Ken Bloc Gymkhana Eight – Dubai Edition
Earlier, at the 2015 Dubai International Motorshow, Ken Bloc was invited to visit Dubai. While Ken Bloc can hardly drive in a straight-line his stunt driving was spectacular as he can display his dexterous master driving skill even in a warehouse or in somebody’s garden can easily become his playground.
It’s not hard to recall as my memory is still fresh when Ken Bloc opened the stage for Ford at 2015 Dubai Motorshow. Instead of taking photos of the cars displayed at the Ford stand including the all-new GT hyper-super car the whole media went berserk trying to snap a photo of Ken Bloc. This writer was more then equal than others and got a selfie!
I was certainly slack-jawed when I saw him driving his ‘Hoonicorn’ AWD Mustang live, shredding the tuff tile car park in the Meydan Racecourse at Dubai Motor Festival. During the press briefing Ken Bloc gave the hint of Gymkhana 8, but he never mentioned that it would be a Dubai edition!
Here’s the video of Ken Bloc’s performance driving. His specially prep’d Ford Fiesta not only ripping the streets of Dubai but nearly brushing Dubai Police prized possessions of super cars in duty uniform. However, unlike other video which shows the continuity , this film was shot on various locations highlighting the city of Dubai offers as prime tourist spots, especially Burj Khalifa and the Sheikh Zayed Road that was closed for in the wee hours for shooting.
Not so unique to Ken Bloc’s Gymkhana videos are the open deserted airfield resembling the airplanes graveyards. This time a decommissioned Boeing 747-200 with Iran Air livery on the tail was pulled by the tug on a far flung air strip in the state of Fujairah.
New to this video is the Ken Bloc’s Ford Fiesta ST RX43 rallycross car in ultra-reflective livery and a Ford Raptor doing the infamous Arabian wheelie. However, there was also a glimplse of the all-new Ford Focus RS and the all-new Hoonigan Ford Focus RS with jet-like inlets on the side.
Here’s the all new Gymkhana Eight video nearing to a one million count within 24 hours!
