Rolls Royce Ghost Series II Launched At The Geneva Motor Show

What makes Ghost Series II?
Re-sculpted LED headlights encircled by daytime running lights lend Ghost Series II a more dynamic visual signature and blend perfectly with revised surface treatments to the front of the car. A tapered ‘wake channel’ on the bonnet, emanating from the Spirit of Ecstasy, evokes the sight of a jet’s vapour trail or wake of a fast luxury yacht and hints at the car’s dynamism.
“As a design statement, Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II continues to transcend time,” comments Giles Taylor, Director of Design for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “This is ensured by the deft treatment of features such as the new headlights, the new wake channel on the bonnet and surfacing that lend the car a more dynamic, purposeful stance and hint at the cutting-edge technology inside. I am very pleased with the overall sense of design harmony.”
Inside with first class features the car is come with the technology suite. On-board Wi-Fi makes Ghost Series II the most connected, luxurious place in which any entrepreneur conduct business on the move. Accessed through a one-touch call button or the Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller, on-board Wi-Fi facilitates email, file sharing, telephony and video-conferencing.
Whilst optional Bespoke Audio – the most exhaustively engineered and finest audio system in automotive history – brings new levels of aural satisfaction to passengers. Eighteen individually-tuned speakers, with both theatre and studio settings, deliver a pure ‘larger than live’ sensation. Two bass speakers located in the boot complement seven speakers meticulously placed throughout the cabin. Two ‘exciter’ speakers in the roof-lining bring the sound to occupants’ ear level creating a completely unique listening sensation.
In 2014, the famous Spirit of Ecstasy figurine celebrates her 103rd birthday. More than any other symbol of luxury, the flying lady stands as a genuine icon, one whose beautiful image continues to adorn the grille, but is now also reproduced within Ghost Series II’s cabin depicted below the crystal glass surface of the new rotary controller.
The All-new Ghost Series II, comes with an athletic heart of 6.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V-12, which produces a massive 563 horsepower and earth rolling 575 lb-ft of torque from as little as 1500 rpm, merely an engine idle speed. This whole power scale balances heft of 2360kgs when you mash the gas pedal; it only takes 4.7 seconds for zero-to-sixty dash and will continue to mitigated 155Mph top speed. More interestingly whether next figures matter to the owner of this car or not is the fuel consumption with urban only at 21.2 ltr/100 km / 13.3 mpg. The 8-speed Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT), debuted in Wraith last year, enhances the car’s dynamism – a technology that utilizes GPS and mapping data to ensure the car is always in the correct gear when negotiating turns, highway exists and roundabouts.

Speaking during the visit, Richard Collar hailed the creativity of Rolls-Royce’s customers in the UAE and their boldness in pushing the Bespoke program to new limits in personalized automotive artistry. “Bespoke is Rolls-Royce. Tailor-made motor cars are at the core of our business, and our customers in this region love the fact that they can reflect their individuality and their passion through one-of-a-kind ultra-luxury automobiles such as the ones we are showing,” he said. “Our customers in the UAE are very valuable to us as they inspire our designers and push them to new areas and concepts.”
