What exactly Gannas is all about?
Hunting is a part of the rich heritage in the Arab world. As the winter season draws in the Arab hunters head towards the desert and indulge in the game and spend their lives under starry skies.
Al Masaood Automobiles (AMA), the exclusive distributor of Nissan vehicles, invested six months in the Rub al Khali, or literally translated as the Empty Quarter- one of the largest contiguous sand desert in the world (1,000 kilometres in length, and 500 kilometres wide, spanning across four Arab nations: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman Unites Arab Emirates and Yemen) was set as playground for Lebanese race driver, Emil Khneisser to develop and test the prototype for the newly launched exclusive edition on and off road to ensure all equipment installed are of highest qualities. ‘Gannas’ is available across the range of Nissan Patrols to suit the various preferences in the market.
AMA Product Manager Emil Khneisser, who supervised the development of this exclusive AMA local project, said: “’Gannas’ is not a new idea. In 1994-1995 ‘Gannas’ has been launched with the 5th generation of Nissan Patrol, equipping vehicles with sand tires and water tanks at place of third seat row. Today, we have revived the concept and developed an exclusive vehicle that is fully equipped to serve the requirements of passionate off-roaders in the UAE.”
