Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT35 – They Boldly go Where No One has Gone Before
Arctic Trucks Middle East is back with a brand new off–roading season!
Back in July 2007, Top Gear presented the Polar Special episode where the Clarkson and May used the mighty Toyota Hilux to cover a distance from Resolute to Bathurst Island, magnetic North Pole Canada. It was a grueling journey on the Artic sea ice and was made possible by specially prepared Toyota Hilux 4×4 pickups by Arctic Trucks.
Arctic Truck established 1990 and based in Iceland, thrives in the freezing zones of United Kingdom, Norway, Finland, Poland, Russia providing the exploration and excursion vehicles especially engineered to take on the extreme challenge. Interestingly, Artic Truck now arrived here in the United Arab Emirates.
Recently, at the 2016 IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hannover, Germany, Toyota and Arctic Trucks unveiled the all-new Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT35.
Together, Toyota and Arctic Trucks have broken world records and established world firsts, both in the Arctic and Antarctic, resulting in the Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks being the first choice transportation for scientists and explorers alike. The Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT35 builds on the established engineering principles of our polar vehicles. The result is a Hilux that can accommodate 35” tires, re-engineered suspension to improve ride, handling and a ground clearance increase of 25%.
The Extreme Desert in the Middle East.
The winter season is upon us which means outdoor activities will be on utmost and maximum. to cover the whole region of Middle East, Arctic Trucks now based in Dubai since 2010 in conjunction with Toyota’s local dealership, Al Futtaim motors, these customized and specially converted HiLux pickup truck can be acquired.
Arctic Trucks has focused mainly on two customer groups for specially converted vehicles. The first group consists of people interested in traveling in unknown terrain, outdoor people looking for more all-round use and more comfortable and safe way to travel. The other group consists of utility companies and organizations, such as telephone companies, power and electricity companies and rescue squads that are in the need of powerful vehicles that can be depended on.

Spreading the wings in the region Artic Trucks are now providing the opportunity to explore Oman through the Off-roading club – The Guide Oman’s off-roading adventure.
All the trips will have a complete support crew, so one can enjoy the adventurous terrain in a stress-free environment. Arctic Trucks’ very own Off Road Club will re-start in October – each month Hjalti and his team will welcome a group of enthusiasts of all levels into the Dubai/Abu Dhabi desert. The club takes place once per month on a Friday morning; it’s complimentary to join and a great chance to network with other thrill seekers.

Crossing the border, there is no better way to see the beauty of Oman than alongside The Guide Oman team; a team fully equipped with medics, mechanics and a chef, ensuring the trip is one of the safest ways to tackle the sand dunes. Similar to the Arctic Trucks club, there will be guides and highly trained professionals providing assistance along the entire trip.
Beside the Oman adventure, Arctic Trucks are also providing the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the freezing Iceland adventure. The 2017 tour will cover most of the astounding areas of Iceland, starting from Haukadalur, home of the great Geysir hot spring, visiting the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall and taking the highland road Kjölurall all the way up to Kerlingarfjöll mountain hut.
The volcanic origin of the Kerlingarfjoll Mountain, will see the group explore some hot springs around Kerlingafjöll area and from there they will head to Hveravellir where people can bathe in the natural hot springs. Aiming to include more adventures in the snow, the team plans to take the Kjölur mountain road back down from the highlands, depending on the weather conditions and head to the Langjökull Glacier (Iceland’s second largest glacier) for the snowmobiling adventures.
The highlight of the trip will commence from Minniborgir where Arctic Trucks promises the ultimate 4×4 experience, tackling a variety of tracks through breathtaking mountain ranges. These tracks are usually deserted and an ideal area/playground for off-roading enthusiasts. Driving from one place to the other ensures the team will explore tracks that will prove to be not only adventurous but also extremely scenic.

The vehicle has been sold in Russia since 2015 and is already available in Norway and Iceland. EU homologation is underway for the European marked and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016 and the new Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT35 will soon be available in other markets across Europe.
